Our 3 favorites walks in De Panne

De Panne_walking

Young and old travel to De Panne for Plopsaland. Yet the last major Belgian coastal municipality before the French border is much more than an amusement park. In this blog we give you our three favorite walks.

When we go hiking in De Panne we always start at the sea. Or what did you think? There is little above an elongated beach walk 😉

From there we will enter the unique dune area. Do you wear your walking shoes?

Walk 1. the expansive Westhoek reserve

We start along the beach and then explore a part of the Westhoek reserve. This reserve, together with the Calmeynbos, the Krakeel and Oosthoek dunes, forms the largest contiguous dune massif of our Belgian coast.

Walk 2. the valuable fossil dunes of Cabour

The fossil dunes of Adinkerke are both known as the Cabourduinen and Garzebekeveld. , are one of the best preserved fossil dune areas of Northwest Europe. Some parts of this 107,5 hectare area are already 5000 years old! Fun for the children is the play zone in Garzebekeveld.

Walk 3. the Oosthoek dunes

In the Oosthoekduinen we walk through an 80 hectare dune and forest area. Dry moss dunes and dune grasslands set the tone. The Artist path is really worth the effort. Here, too, play zones!

Be sure to also inform about it less mobile path if you are less on your feet or are traveling with a buggy or wheelchair.
